LeviMcGrath

'Levi's willingness to volunteer for 5 months in Uganda with World Vision is a clear demonstration of his heart for, and commitment to, the poorest of the poor. His example is an encouragement and a challenge to all of us. Levi's incredible experiences and insights have influenced and shaped his music powerfully.  His ability to communicate through his music, something of the people he has met and the situation he's seen is extremely moving and demonstrates his unique songwriting ability. It's impossible to listen to his music and not be stirred into action. World Vision considers Levi a close friend and is proud to be partnering with him on his latest tour.  I commend Levi's music and tour to you.'
[Tim Costello, CEO World Vision Australia]

BIO
From working with former child soldiers in Uganda, to social work on the streets of Melbourne, Australia, Levi McGrath demonstrates a passionate commitment to changing the world for the better that goes beyond his 23 years. He is passionately committed to the belief that music is one of the most powerful influences in the world. That's why he aims to for his music to motivate and inspire a new generation of people who are willing to stand up and make a difference.

The son of an itinerant country preacher, Levi began writing songs from age 12. He fronted several bands, both within and outside the world of the church, before studying songwriting at Lismore NSW's Southern Cross University.

'I want for my music to impact people's hearts and change people's lives. I want to be a voice of challenge to inspire people to open up their hearts to a bigger world,' McGrath enthuses. 2007 saw the release of his debut album 'Move' on the Australia/USA independent Small House Records label. 'Move' has sold over 2000 units since its release and has garnered over 300 radio interviews, national television appearances, feature articles and community radio airplay on 300+ stations nationwide, including several syndicated national programs.

2008 saw Levi touring Australia for six months, followed with a Buzz Grant-funded USA tour. In 2009 Levi returned to Uganda to work with former child soldiers for five months, with World Vision in Gulu. Out of this has come his new album 'Children of War'; rich in passion for social change and heart-rending stories of suffering and dignity.

'Children of War' was released on Small House Records in April 2010, and Levi is currently on an 100-venue, Australia-wide tour sponsored by World Vision Australia to spread the message of the child victims of war.
